JOB SUMMARY:

The College of Dentistry at the American University of Iraq Baghdad (AUIB) is pleased to invite qualified applicants for a full-time lab Assistant. This position provides vital support to faculty, staff, and students by assisting with a variety of dental laboratory procedures and ensuring a smooth operation within the clinical and laboratory setting.
This position will report to the Dean College of Dentistry and the General Lab Manager .

Job Location: AUIB Campus, Airport Road, Baghdad, Iraq.

Core Skills that successful candidate will have:

• Preparing quarterly inventories for all laboratory equipment, and consumables in teaching, testing, and research labs.
• Assisting in the preparation of laboratory and preclinical experiments.
• Chemical, consumables and instruments storage.
• Drafting of laboratory forms and preclinical forms.
• Ensuring that quality control is maintained in the laboratories.
• Ensuring that safety measures are applied in the laboratories.
• Prepare dental models, casts, and impressions according to established protocols.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following all safety protocols for handling dental materials and equipment.
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment according to infection control guidelines.
• Assist faculty and staff with research projects as needed.
• Assist faculty with clinical setting as needed.
• May perform some administrative tasks and ensure clear communication and collaboration with faculty, staff, and students.

Experience, Skills, and Educational Requirements:

Candidates for this position must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, basic sciences, dental technology, or related fields
• Diploma or certificate in Dental Assisting or a related field (preferred).
• Experience working in a dental laboratory setting is a plus.
• Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control procedures.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software programs.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
