Fareed Ali
Biology Lab Instructor
Fareed Asaad is a Biology Lab Instructor at the American University of Iraq–Baghdad (AUIB), where he teaches General Biology (BIO101), General Biology Laboratory, Organic Chemistry Laboratory, and Genetics Laboratory. He is actively involved in laboratory curriculum development, experimental design, and the practical training of undergraduate students in scientific methodology.
He holds a Master’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Yıldız Technical University, Istanbul, and has over five years of research experience spanning molecular biology and drug design, with a specialized focus on biochemistry, computational chemistry, biophysics, and AI-based virtual screening of large compound libraries.
Before joining AUIB, he served as a research assistant on multiple projects in molecular biology and drug discovery, concentrating on genetic diseases, computational chemistry, molecular modeling, and the application of machine learning to identify novel therapeutic compounds against various diseases.
In addition to his teaching role, he supports student advancement through laboratory instruction and internship preparation. His academic interests include structure- and target-based drug design, molecular dynamics simulations, protein–ligand interaction analysis, and the integration of bioinformatics and predictive modeling into therapeutic development.
