Dr. Sayfaldeen Kashmoola
Assistant Professor of Prosthodontics
Dr. Sayf Kashmoola is a prosthodontist and academician who currently serves as Assistant Professor of Prosthodontics at the American University of Iraq, Baghdad (AUIB). He teaches courses in Removable Prosthetic Dentistry and Dental Materials and contributes to preclinical and clinical training within the Faculty of Dentistry.
Prior to joining AUIB, Dr. Kashmoola earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery and Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Prosthodontics in Malaysia. His doctoral research focused on facial anthropometry of the Malaysian Malay population, introducing a novel two-dimensional photographic method for facial measurement and establishing a regional database for facial analysis.
He has held academic appointments at several universities across Malaysia, Federal Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region, where he taught courses in fixed and removable prosthodontics, restorative dentistry, and comprehensive care.
Dr. Kashmoola’s research interests include digital prosthodontics, curriculum innovation, and the integration of technology in dental education. He has co-authored studies in implant dentistry, orofacial pain, and sleep medicine and developed a mandibular advancement device for the management of obstructive sleep apnea, for which he holds intellectual property rights. He also participated in the co-development of a custom protective facial mask for athletes.
He has supervised numerous undergraduate research projects related to dental education, prosthodontic techniques, and student wellbeing, several of which have resulted in publications and conference presentations. His early research experience as an undergraduate involved projects on implant surface treatments and dental survey design.
Dr. Kashmoola aims to contribute to the advancement of dental education and research in Iraq and to help position AUIB’s Faculty of Dentistry as a center of academic excellence and innovation.
