
Dr. Rasha Ismail
Associate Professor of Management Information Systems

Dr. Rasha Ismail holds a Ph.D. with a specialization in Business Administration – Business Process Modelling and E-business from the University of the West of England, in the year 2000 obtained an MBA degree in MIS Arab Academy for Science and Technology and Maritime Transport, Egypt. From August 1996 to September 2012, she worked in a teaching career until she was promoted to Assistant Professor at the Arab Academy for Science and Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), Egypt. Rasha is currently working at the American University in Iraq – Baghdad as an Associate Professor in MIS – College of Business. Rasha worked as an Associate Dean at the University of Hertfordshire from 2020 to 2023. She joined the American University of the Middle East in Kuwait as an Assistant Professor in 2012, then became an Associate Professor in 2017 until 2019. She also worked as a consultant to implement E-business at one of the leading organizations in the cable and wire industry in Egypt.
She has diversified and extensive experience in business process analysis, process
improvement, technology advancements, and coaching and mentoring.
Her research interests include Business Process management and improvements. She has published several research papers in business process modeling, the transition to ebusiness, and process improvements in education and industry. Rasha Ismail received an award for a high-ranking publication (Q2) from AUM (American University of the Middle East) in 2019. She was also awarded certificates for attendance and appreciation from several conferences, in addition to certificates of appreciation from AUM for her efforts in leading and directing students’ activities.
