Dr. Mohammad Fayyad Kazan
Associate Professor of Biology
Before joining AUIB, Dr. Mohammad Fayyad-Kazan served as a Professor at the Lebanese American University as well as the Lebanese university, where he contributed extensively to teaching, research, and program development. Previously, he taught at several leading universities across the Middle East and Europe, accumulating more than a decade of academic and research experience. He also served as Coordinator of the Forensic Biology Program at the Lebanese University, where he played a key role in strengthening interdisciplinary education between molecular biology and criminal investigations.
Dr. Fayyad-Kazan is a highly active scholar with a strong record of scientific productivity, having authored more than 70 peer-reviewed publications in international journals. His research spans molecular microbiology, immunology, cancer biology, and epigenetics, with a growing focus on bioinformatics and mathematical modeling of biological systems.
He earned his Master’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular and Cellular Biology from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in Belgium, where he also completed his Ph.D. in Molecular Microbiology. Following his doctorate, Dr. Fayyad-Kazan pursued several postdoctoral research fellowships in Europe, focusing on molecular biology, immunology, and cancer metabolism. In addition, he holds an MBA in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Lebanese University.
Dr. Fayyad-Kazan is an active reviewer and editorial board member for several prestigious international journals. His academic career reflects a deep commitment to research excellence, innovation in science education, and advancing biomedical research across the region.
