Dr. Karim John Tannous, Esquire, is an Associate Professor of Law at AUIB. He holds a Juris Doctor from the Temple University School of Law in the United States. Additionally, he has received training in the civil law tradition and practice in Rome, Italy. Dr. Tannous brings over 32 years of active legal practice and more than 10 years of academic experience as both a lecturer and Assistant Professor of Law in the United States and the Middle East.
Throughout his career, Dr. Tannous has represented clients in both the state and federal trial and appellate courts in the U.S. and has successfully argued before the Colorado Supreme Court. He also has extensive experience in oil, gas, and commercial law, having served as Vice President and General Counsel for a hydrocarbon company in Denver, Colorado.
As a veteran attorney, Dr. Tannous combines practical business, legal, and counseling expertise with a solid track record across various facets of law and education. His extensive experience includes trial and transactional legal work, as well as student teaching, advising, and career counseling. He is a motivated and articulate multilingual professional who excels at helping clients achieve their desired outcomes and supports students in reaching their career objectives.
