Overview

The Continuing Education Institute (CEI) at the American University of Iraq, Baghdad (AUIB), is seeking a proactive and highly skilled Project Manager to coordinate, design, and execute CEI’s programs and projects. Reporting directly to the CEO of CEI, the Project Manager will ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with the institute’s strategic objectives. This role involves extensive client communication, identifying training needs, developing customized solutions, and overseeing the implementation of quality-driven project frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Project Design and Planning

  • Develop and implement project frameworks, ensuring alignment with CEI’s quality standards.
  • Conduct training needs assessments to identify market demands and customize project solutions.
  • Write comprehensive project proposals and ensure proper follow-up for successful execution.

Client and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong partnerships with public and private institutions to identify collaboration opportunities.
  • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met and satisfaction levels remain high.
  • Report project progress and outcomes to the CEO and other key stakeholders.

Program Implementation and Support

  • Oversee the end-to-end execution of training programs and projects, ensuring quality delivery.
  • Coordinate with team members to brief and debrief on market needs and project requirements.
  • Support training coordination and provide advice on marketing plans and audience targeting.

Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Ensure all relevant monitoring and evaluation procedures are implemented.
  • Collect and analyze post-training feedback to improve future projects and programs.

Administrative and Operational Tasks

  • Prepare and manage project schedules, ensuring all deliverables are completed on time.
  • Support operational functions such as logistics, resource allocation, and reporting.
  • Troubleshoot project-related issues and ensure resolutions are effectively implemented.

Qualifications and Skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in project management.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing projects in educational or training environments.

Core Skills:

  • Strong project management and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Proficiency in modern project management tools and methodologies.
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to lead teams effectively.
  • Advanced problem-solving, time management, and decision-making skills.

Working Conditions

  • The Project Manager will be based at CEI on the AUIB campus. Regular office hours are required, with occasional extended hours for major projects or deadlines.
