Dr. Dieter L. Thom

Assistant Professor of Management

Before joining AUIB, he was Assistant Professor of Management, Head of Audit and Head of Project-Based Learning at the College of Business of the Australian University of Kuwait. He has taught in conjunction with their all their business partners, the University of Tasmania, Victoria University, and Central Queensland University in Australia.

Dr. Thom worked as a Corporate Management Trainer for TQLS at Joint Operations with Chevron (Saudi Arabia) and the Kuwait Gulf Oil Company, where he was the Center Director for and is Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and the Institute for Leadership and Management (UK). He also taught courses for the MBA at the Maastricht School of Management in Kuwait and held the post of Director of Operations for the Education Consortium in Kuwait. He worked as Deputy Director of Woodhill College in Pretoria, South Africa, and was the English Coordinator for the De Beers Education Development project in Botswana. He was also a Sales Executive for Nashua Business Solutions and taught at Ladysmith College in South Africa.

Dr. Thom completed his undergraduate work at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Languages, Mathematics and Computer Education. He has a Master of Business Administration from Charles Sturt University in Australia, and a PhD in Leadership from Tennessee Temple University in the USA. His research is in education, training, development and business.
