Dr. Danielle A. Badro
Associate Professor of Molecular Oncology
Dr. Badro earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Université Saint Joseph in Beirut, followed by a Master’s degree in Developmental Biology and Embryology from Aix-Marseille Université in France, and a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology from Université Côte d’Azur, also in France. She subsequently completed postdoctoral fellowships in Human Genetics at the Lebanese American University, and in Molecular Oncology at the American University of Beirut.
Since 2010, Dr. Badro has developed extensive expertise in healthcare and medical education, contributing to the design and delivery of lectures, workshops, and academic programs at the undergraduate, graduate, and clinical levels.
From 2015 to 2022, she served as Director of Graduate Studies at a private higher education institution in Lebanon. In 2018, she joined the National Institute of Public Health, Clinical Epidemiology, and Toxicology-Lebanon as a founding research associate, where she also co-founded and currently chairs the Research Ethics Committee.
Dr. Badro is an active researcher who has authored a book chapter and several peer-reviewed publications. Her current research interests include the epidemiology of chronic kidney disease, the distribution of breast cancer biomarkers in Middle Eastern populations, and the epidemiology of rare genetic disorders in the Iraqi population.
Outside of her academic work, Dr. Badro is an avid mountaineer and long-distance trekker. In recent year, she has summited Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and completed the 200-kilometer GR20 trail in Corsica, both undertaken to raise awareness for cancer.
