Dr. Mariam Sedighi

Assistant Professor of Education and Human Development

Dr. Mariam Sedighi is a scholar and educator specializing in curriculum studies and comparative and international education. Her interdisciplinary, qualitative research examines how global and local educational and development policies and practices can enable, and/or challenge, more inclusive futures.

Dr. Sedighi holds a joint Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction and Educational Policy Studies from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, with minors in geography and visual cultures. With over twenty years of teaching experience, she designs and consults on learning environments that integrate active learning, culturally sustaining pedagogy, and emerging generative AI tools to advance equity-driven education.
