Open Access e-collection:
In addition to the subscribed e-collections, the Library facilitates access to a large variety of comprehensive and specialized open access databases. These databases are freely accessible to research communities worldwide through the network of Open Access Movement. The Library chooses these databases very carefully and always benchmark with other university library with similar interest in terms teaching and research services. The number of the open access databases in the Library e-resources list and services will grow with the time, as a large number of book and journal publishers are giving more consideration to this publishing concept and kind of services.

A pioneer of open access publishing, BMC has an evolving portfolio of high-quality peer-reviewed journals including broad interest titles such as BMC Biology and BMC Medicine, specialist journals such as Malaria Journal and Micro
and the BMC series. Expanding beyond biomedicine into the physical sciences, mathematics and engineering disciplines, BMC now offers a wider portfolio of subject fields on a single open access platform.

DOAB is a community-driven discovery service that indexes and provides access to scholarly, peer-reviewed open access books in large variety of subjects and several different languages.
Directory of Open Access Journals
DOAJ is independent database contains over 15 000 peer-reviewed open access journals covering all areas of science, technology, medicine, social sciences, arts and humanities, in all languages.
Global Index Medicus
The Global Index Medicus (GIM) provides worldwide access to biomedical and public health literature produced by and within low-middle income countries. The main objective is to increase the visibility and usability of this important set of resources. The material is collated and aggregated by WHO Regional Office Libraries on a central search platform allowing retrieval of bibliographical and full text information.
Hindawi is a commercial publisher of scientific, technical, and medical (STM) literature. Founded in 1997, it currently publishes more than 230 peer reviewed open access scientific journals, with an annual output of roughly 20,000 articles each year. In 2021, Hindawi was purchased by John Whiley and Sons.
Iraqi Academic Scientific Journals
Provided by the Ministry of Higher Education Scientific Research of Iraq (IASJ). It is a one platform holding most of the Scholarly Journals which are published by
Iraqi Universities and Research Institutions. It is a bibliographic index with full text of the indexed research papers and articles.
Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations
NDLTD is an international organization that promotes creation, access to, and preservation of electronic theses and dissertations (ETDs) from academic institutions around the world. The NDLTD Union Catalog provides access to over a million ETDs citations. It is a multidisciplinary mainly in English with a variety of other languages. Significant number of the thesis’s citations are available in full text.
Open Access Theses and Dissertations
OATD.org aims to be the best possible resource for finding open access graduate theses and dissertations published around the world. Metadata (information about the theses) comes from over 1100 colleges, universities, and research institutions. OATD indexes more than 5,735,000 theses and dissertations.
PubMed Comprises more that 30 million citations for biomedical literature fro MEDLINE, life science journals, and online books. Citations may include links to full text content from PubMed Central (PMC) and publishers’ websites.
PMC is a free full text archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature at the U.S National Institute of Health’s National of Medicine (NIH/NLM).
