Summary:The Warehouse Operator(Inventory Coordinator) is responsible for performing various warehouse activities, including creating inventory transactions, processing movement requests, recording cycle and physical inventory counts, performing material put away, and confirming pick slips. This role ensures efficient and accurate inventory management to support the university’s operational needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management:
- Perform inventory transactions such as sub inventory transfers, miscellaneous receipts, and movement requests.
- Record cycle and physical inventory counts to ensure accurate inventory records.
- Manage and maintain on-hand quantities, ensuring items are correctly accounted for within the inventory system.
- Manage item lot and serial numbers, ensuring proper tracking of inventory.
- Material Handling:
- Confirm and process pick slips, ensuring accurate picking of items from inventory for internal orders or requisitions.
- Perform put away of received goods into inventory or receiving locations, ensuring proper storage and organization.
- Deliver goods using the receiving application, ensuring items are processed efficiently and correctly.
- Data Management and Compliance:
- Use web services to manage and update inventory data, including lots, serial numbers, and sub inventory locations.
- Ensure compliance with inventory management policies and procedures, including the management of consigned inventory, packing units, and other inventory-related tasks.
- Access and run reports related to inventory management and transactions to support decision-making and compliance.
- System and Process Management:
- Utilize responsive inventory management applications to perform inventory transactions and manage inventory data.
- Monitor work areas related to inventory management, pick slips, and receiving, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Generate and manage item serial numbers, sub inventory transfers, and other inventory-related transactions through the system.
Privileges:
- Manage inventory transactions, including the creation of sub inventory transfers and miscellaneous transactions.
- Access and manage on-hand quantity data, item serial numbers, and inventory organization parameters.
- Utilize REST services and web services for managing guided journey responses, inventory transaction details, and more.
Data Security Policies:
- Enforce data security policies related to inventory management, ensuring that only authorized personnel have access to sensitive inventory data.
- Manage cycle counts, inventory movement requests, and other inventory-related tasks in compliance with established policies.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Additional certification in inventory management or related disciplines is a plus.
- Experience: Prior experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, or related roles.
- Skills: Strong organizational and analytical skills, proficiency in inventory management software (preferably Oracle SCM), and excellent attention to detail.
Performance Metrics:
- Accuracy in inventory transactions and records.
- Efficiency in processing pick slips, movement requests, and material put away.
- Compliance with inventory management procedures and policies.
Work Environment:
This position typically operates in a warehouse or inventory management environment. The role may require physical activities such as lifting and moving inventory, as well as using various warehouse tools and equipment.
