The College of Dentistry at the American University of Iraq Baghdad (AUIB) is seeking distinguished professionals to enrich our academic team. We invite applications for a part-time Visiting Professor position in the vibrant city of Baghdad. Job Location: AUIB Campus, Airport Road, Baghdad, Iraq.

- Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics
- Endodontics
- Periodontics
- Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine
Position Ranking:
Open-ranking, with appointments possible at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor levels depending on qualifications and experience in education, research, clinical care, and community service.
Strategic Objectives:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication and leadership skills, contributing significantly to our educational programs, clinical practice, and research endeavors.
Core Skills Required:
- Advanced clinical skills in dentistry.
- Ability to provide clear and engaging instruction to both undergraduate and graduate students.
- Proficiency in innovative teaching methodologies to enhance learning outcomes.
- Contribution to curriculum development and evaluation aligned with educational objectives and accreditation standards.
- Clinical supervision and mentorship for dental students, teaching assistants, and junior faculty.
- Collaboration across specialties is needed to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Active participation in research and scholarly activities.
Responsibilities:
- Instruct dentistry students in pre-clinical, clinical, and theoretical areas.
- Implement a coherent teaching and learning strategy.
- Mentor and advise students, fostering their academic and professional growth.
- Engage in curriculum development and instruction for continuing education and graduate programs.
- Spearhead research projects and support scholarly pursuits.
- Participate actively in college practices, training facilities, and educational events.
Experience, Skills, and Educational Requirements:
A BDS, DDS, DMD, or equivalent, from an accredited Western dental school.
A PhD in the dental sciences or a similar field from a reputable Western institution.
At least 5 years of teaching experience in a post-secondary academic setting.
Familiarity with the American system of higher education and clinical practice in dentistry.
Valid dental license or eligibility for licensing.
American Board certification or exam passage is a plus.
