This position will report directly to the Dean of the College of Pharmacy
Job description, duties, and responsibilities:
- Teach pharmacy lab courses such as dosage forms, pharmacology, pharmaceutical analysis, pharmacokinetics & bioequivalence, drug design & synthesis, or clinical pharmacy.
- Set up equipment and materials for the lab sessions.
- Prepare and maintain documentation of the lab inventory of equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Arrange purchase orders for lab materials and supplies, as well as the lab budget.
- Prepare and maintain documentation of all lab protocols, procedures, and safety rules.
- Contribute to the research activities and initiate research projects.
- Attend technical training as deemed necessary.
- Be involved in assessment and committee work at the College of Pharmacy and AUIB.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a pharmacy-related domain from a reputable college/university. (Note: Applicants with a PhD will be considered overqualified for this position.)
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a college/university setting.
- Work experience involving animals will be given careful consideration.
- Active engagement in research, including recent publications in indexed journals.
- Familiarity with American system of higher education.
- Ability to work and coordinate with faculty and other lab instructors as member of a team.
- Ability to interact effectively with students, supervise and guide them in the lab.
- Strong computer skills, English communication skills, and good time management skills.
