This position reports to the Head of the Department of Natural & Applied Sciences.
Job description duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Teach basic and advanced chemistry courses for undergraduate majors and non-major students.
- Advise major students on all matters that relate to their course selection and academic success.
- Oversee the preparation of laboratory experiments and manuals by laboratory instructors and share supervision of laboratory sessions and students’ lab work as necessary.
- Participate in departmental or college meetings, take part in various committees, and assist in recruitment activities.
- Assist in departmental and programmatic planning and preparations.
- Contribute to ongoing program review, assessment, and evaluation.
- Undertake research activities, collaborate with faculty on research projects, and establish research collaborations with external members of the academic community.
- Be familiar with all the rules, regulations and policies that govern teaching, research, and interactions with members of the university community and always observe them.
Qualifications: candidate must have
- PhD in Chemistry with a specialization in Organic, Analytical, or Inorganic Chemistry from a reputable European or North American university.
- minimum of 3 years of teaching experience post-graduation in a college or university setting.
Familiarity with the American system of higher education.
