The College of Healthcare Technologies at the American University of Iraq Baghdad (AUIB) is pleased to invite qualified applicants for a full-time faculty position.
The faculty member’s duties will include didactic and clinical instruction of students and residents, scholarly activities, and service. Participation in the faculty practice is also expected. Candidates with teaching experience are preferred, and those with scholarly and research interests are encouraged.
With the potential for academic promotion based on demonstrated, continuous excellence in teaching, research, clinical care, and community service, this is an open-ranking position that could be classified as an Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor depending on experience.
Job Location: AUIB Campus, Airport Road, Baghdad, Iraq.
The College of Healthcare Technologies seeks to appoint outstanding faculty members in the following programs:
- Anesthesia Technology
- Radiologic Sciences
- Optometry & Vision Sciences
- Dental Sciences
Job Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality theoretical and laboratory instruction to students.
- Develop and update course curricula to align with the latest advancements in the field.
- Contribute to the establishment of state-of-the-art laboratory facilities within the College.
- Design and implement continuing education (CE) programs to support professional development in the region.
- Participate in academic assessments, committee work, and institutional initiatives at the College and University levels.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development and lifelong learning.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Doctoral degree in a relevant field from a reputable university, with clinical experience preferred. Candidates with education and experience from Western institutions will be given strong consideration.
- Teaching experience at an accredited university.
- Excellent English communication skills and familiarity with the American higher education system.
- Strong interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work harmoniously with colleagues and students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
