Job Title: Full-Time Doctor
Department: AUIB Campus Clinic
Location: Baghdad, Iraq
Position Type: Full-Time
Work Hours: Sunday to Thursday with rotating evening or weekend hours as required.
This position reports to: Clinic Manager
Job Summary: The Full-Time Doctor at AUIB will provide high-quality medical care to the university community, including students, faculty, and staff. As a key healthcare provider within a start-up university environment, the doctor will establish and maintain a standard of care that promotes health and wellness across campus. The role involves patient care, health education, and the implementation of health policies and procedures. The ideal candidate is a dedicated and compassionate professional who is adaptable and enthusiastic about working in a dynamic, evolving setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Provide comprehensive primary care services, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions.
Health Education: Educate patients on wellness, prevention, and management of medical conditions through individual consultations and group workshops. - Emergency Response: Respond to medical emergencies on campus, providing immediate care and coordinating further medical support as needed.
- Medical Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Health Policy Implementation: Assist in the development and implementation of campus health policies and protocols, ensuring they align with best practices and legal requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Director of Health Services, nurses, mental health professionals, and other healthcare staff to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to student and staff health.
- Health Promotion: Participate in and organize health promotion activities and initiatives on campus, such as vaccination drives, health fairs, and wellness programs.
- Professional Development: Stay current with medical advancements and university health trends to ensure the highest standard of care.
Qualifications:
Medical Degree (MD or DO): From an accredited institution, with a valid license to practice medicine in Iraq.
Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in primary care, emergency medicine, or a related field, preferably in a university or similar setting.
- Must be fluent in English and Arabic.
Certification: Board certification in a relevant specialty (e.g., Family Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology) is preferred. - CPR/First Aid Certification: Current certification required.
- Skills: Excellent diagnostic and clinical skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Cultural Competence: Experience working in diverse, multicultural environments and sensitivity to the unique health needs of a university population.
- Adaptability: Willingness to work in a start-up environment, with the flexibility to develop new procedures and adapt to evolving needs.
Working Conditions: - Environment: The position is based in the University Clinic, with occasional duties across the campus as needed.
- Physical Requirements: The role may require periods of standing, walking, and occasional lifting of medical equipment or supplies.
