Position Summary:
The Budget Analyst is responsible for analyzing the funds available and ensuring effective budgetary control within the university. This role involves managing financial data, preparing budgets, and providing detailed financial reports to support strategic decision-making.
Duties:
The Budget Analyst is assigned the following duties:
- Perform budget entry for various organizational units.
- View customer account details.
- Manage load interface files for import.
- View Oracle Fusion Payables invoices.
Responsibilities:
- Budget Entry: Compile and input budget data for different departments, ensuring all entries are accurate and timely.
- Customer Account Inquiry: View and manage customer account details, ensuring that all information is up-to-date and correct.
- FSCM Load Interface Administration: Manage load interface files for import to ensure accurate data integration and processing.
- Payables Invoice Inquiry: Access and review Oracle Fusion Payables invoices to ensure accurate financial records.
Privileges:
The Budget Analyst has the following privileges:
- Access Financial Reporting Center: Run and view reports from the Financial Reporting Center.
- Drill Down to Journal: Drill down to journals from subledgers without accessing the General Ledger Journals work area.
- Inquire Fixed Asset Transaction: View asset transaction details and accounting entries.
- Manage Requisition: Create, search, and view requisitions.
- Review Budgetary Control Balances: Review and monitor budget consumption balances.
- Review Budgetary Control Transactions: Review budget consumption balances by transaction.
- Review Subledger Journal Entry: Perform inquiries on subledger journal entries and entry lines.
- Run Account Analysis Report: Submit and review the account analysis report.
- Run Budgetary Control Reports: Run budgetary control reports, including those in Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence and Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher.
- Run Encumbrance Year End Carry Forward Program in Preview Mode: Submit encumbrance year-end carry-forward reports in preview mode.
- Run Open Purchase Orders Encumbrances Analysis Report: Submit reports analyzing open purchase orders and encumbrances.
- View Payables Invoice: View Oracle Fusion Payables invoices without performing a search.
- View Payables Payment: View Oracle Fusion Payables payments.
- View Purchase Order as Procurement Requester: Review purchase orders as a procurement requester.
- View Receivables Receipt: View Receivables receipts.
Data Security Policies:
The Budget Analyst can manage and view various business objects as defined by the following policies:
- Party Tax Profile: Manage and view party tax profiles for authorized business units.
- Tax Exemption: Manage tax exemptions for applicable business units.
- Trading Community Customer Account: View customer accounts and relationships across the enterprise.
- Privacy: Manage and view party tax profiles, tax registrations, and related identifiers.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Prior experience in budgeting, financial data entry, or related roles.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, proficiency in financial software (preferably Oracle ERP), excellent analytical and organizational skills.

- Accuracy in budget analysis and financial reporting
- Timeliness in completing financial tasks and reports
- Compliance with financial policies and regulations
- Effective communication and collaboration with other departments
Work Environment:
This position typically operates in a professional office environment. The role may require occasional travel to various departments or external locations for meetings and data collection.
