Conference information

Clinical pharmacists interview patients about their medical conditions, formulate medication histories, provide recommendations for drug selection, follow-up on drug therapy outcomes, and collaborate with other practitioners to foster the quality of healthcare. However, clinical pharmacists face many challenges such as poor awareness among the general public, lack of specific legislation and support from hospital management, and the existence of communication gaps between pharmacists and medical doctors. Therefore, The future of clinical pharmacy in the region will be discussed to address these problems.

Most medications in Iraq are sold without prescription like antibiotics, and without the proper guidance on what should be avoided and how to optimize patient care and improve patients’ health outcomes. Iraq has still not built a proper system to contain patients’ medical records and therefore every person carries Their own personal record from physician to physician and from pharmacy to pharmacy. This practice makes it difficult for pharmacists to use clinical pharmacy to decrease the number of medical-related adverse events and optimize the overall health care of the patient.

Guidelines; round-table discuss with Iraqi stakeholders; international speaker to share experience of our countries in promoting the field of Clinical pharmacy, etc.

Detailed schedule will be published soon.
